Day 302

We watched the 2nd half of The Sound of Music tonight (we only watched the first half yesterday). Then we went to the neighbor's house for a couple hours to celebrate the East Coast's New Years. :) Maya fell asleep on the neighbor's floor. Sophia and her friend had a great time playing though!

Day 301

Sophia painted her toes with the new pedicure set that Santa brought her. She was so sweet and let Mommy give Maya her first pedicure too. :) Maya thought she was so special, because she loves to be like her big sister.


Sophia painted her nails all by herself.

This is Maya's latest trick...she's been making this funny smile for the camera. HA!


Sophia and her little piggy put on a show for Daddy and me tonight. Here, she was showing us how she takes good care of her baby piggy.

Day 299

We took the girls for their first wagon ride at the beach. It was SO COLD...by Southern California standards. We were bundled up in all our winter gear....but the group of tourists we passed just had light jackets on. ;)

Day 298

Daddy made a nice cozy fire for us this evening.

Earlier, Maya tried to put her cheese on a cracker, just like Mommy.

A rock star in the making? Sophia sings for us with her new microphone.

Day 296

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! We had a great day! The girls got up early and found that Santa had eaten his cookies and milk and Rudolph had his carrot. Santa also left tons of gifts!

The girls got a pink play kitchen and some play food from Santa!

Maya got a baby laptop, so hopefully she'll play with it instead of ours or Sophia's!


Sophia got the teddy bear factory that she's been asking for!

Maya loves Barbie's, so Santa brought her very 1st Barbie!

Pop-Pop Dennis and Fran got Sophia an Easy Bake Oven, some mixes and a kid's cookbook. Sophia (and Mommy!) had so much fun making her first batch of cookies!


Sophia asked Santa for a pet turtle. Santa knew that the rule was she couldn't have a real one until she's 5 years old, so he brought her a little stuffed one instead. Sophia loved it and named it Sparkle.

Grandma Bonnie and Pop-Pop Jon got the girls a wagon!


When I asked Maya to smile for the camera, this is what she did! HAHA!


Maya is showing us her new baby doll's "fluffy stuff". When we ask Maya to show us her fluffy stuff, she pulls up her shirt and tickles her belly. :)


It's a good think Sophia's new bank/safe comes with an alarm...the babies tried to get into it right away!


Molly is opening up her new play food from Sophia and Maya.


Aunt Stephie and Molly got Sophia a Crystal Mining kit. Aunt Stephie and Sophia spent a long time chipping away at the rock.


Finally, Sophia found one crystal! There are many more still to find!


Molly got her cousins all matching ballerina outfits (all in the same size, so it was funny to see how they all fit in them). Maya posed like a fluffy ballerina.


We couldn't get the girls to all pose together!

Alberto got Sophia a head lamp for when we go camping. When Pop-Pop Jon arrived, he decided it made a good reading light. :)

Day 295

Sophia left Santa his milk and cookies, plus a carrot for Rudolph. The girls leave the little Santa light on, so that Santa can see what they've left for him.

The girls were being so silly today.

Today was the Christmas Party for Sophia's preschool. It was so much fun and Alberto and I adored it!

The kids sang a few songs for us. Sophia is in the back row on the left. She sang and smiled all through the songs. Her good buddy is in the background on the left. His mom is Sophia's teacher and she was so excited that he was at the Christmas party!




The other 4 year old class put on the nativity play. Prior to the party starting, Sophia and her friends all snuck a peak at baby Jesus.

Santa made a surprise visit and brought books for all the kids! Here, Sophia is showing the Ariel heart locket that Mommy and Daddy gave Sophia this morning. It's her first big girl jewerly.

This was our second attempt at Disneyland for my birthday! We went to dinner last night at Disney's Grand Californian and. just as we sat down to eat, it started pouring! There was no way we would have made it into the park with that rain. Fortunately, today was a beautiful evening.

This year they put fake snow on the castle.
