Day 237

Our neighbor and Sophia's friend had her 4th birthday party today. Being so close to Halloween, it was a costume party. Sophia was supposed to be a mermaid but changed her mind at the last moment (about 2 minutes before we were going to leave). She wore her Belle costume instead. Maya was a ladybug, but we put her in a matching Belle outfit for the party. Having a million princess outfits can come in handy!

Sophia made meatloaf for dinner. With the exception of using the food processor on the veggies, she mixed it and formed it all by herself. :)


Maya loves Liberty and he is so gentle with her. :)

Day 234

The sunrises during the Orange County wildfires this week have been really intense. This is from standing in our front yard. I couldn't get the neighbors' houses crop out, but loved the sunrise. The other day - midday - the sun looked like the moon from the thin layer of smoke in the sky.


Sophia was making Maya and me giggle. She was being so silly on her bouncy ball. :)

This photo was taken for Alberto's coworker, Megan. She told Sophia that ham was gross. At dinner tonight, Sophia announced that "Megan said ham was gross!" By the end of dinner, we had convinced Sophia that thinking ham was gross, was like not loving candy...or ice cream...or, as Sophia put it, "That's like not loving AIR!" Sophia now thinks Megan is silly and posed for this photo for Megan. :)
