Day 54

My Pop-Pop turned 91 on May 1st, so my Dad, sister, niece, brother, sister-in-law and my family went to celebrate in Lake Charles, LA with him. I hadn't seen him in 10 years and it was a wonderful, relaxing trip.

Sophia and Maya just adored him. This was taken when we arrived. Pop-Pop and Kay have a cute little dog named Buddy that the girls loved too.

This was my Grandma's childhood home in Lake Charles. It sits right across the street from the lake.
I have countless memories of my dad and Pop-Pop "fixing" things growing up. It's caused many laughs, as you can always predict they will try to fix everything themselves. Here, my brother Philip shows he's like father & and grandfather, as the three of them work on the A/C.

Day 53

Sophia playing on her swingset. I liked the shaddow that it cast.

Look out...bad driver ahead! Liberty's dog food and water is no match for Maya in her walker. I forgot to move them out of the way before setting her loose. ;)

Day 52

Our weekly photo challenge is "Silhouettes and Shadows".

This is a flag garden decoration in the morning sun.
A rose in our garden...
Liberty at our front door this morning.

Liberty is such a good dog. I left the front door open when I went out front this morning and instead of running away he just flopped his paws over the doorway and enjoyed the sun.

Maya ripped Sophia's paper on her easle, so Sophia put Maya on a timeout. Since Maya was in her walker, Sophia tried to "force" the timeout by blocking her with chairs. Maya thought she was funny. ;)

Day 51

Oh, what a day...

My father-in-law, Prospero (91 years old), was trembling, freezing, vomiting and had major body pain. Given his heart history, we called 911. They treated him at our house, then took him to the hospital, where he was admitted. We are still waiting to hear why he was admitted, although we do know he'll be okay. It would have been interesting to capture the commotion on camera for my blog, but my camera was the last thing on my mind. Although, as the fire truck was driving away, I noticed that the morning sunlight made the red fire truck look stunning. That would have been a great photo! The firemen did give Sophia and Maya a sticker badge though. :)

After Prospero went to the hospital (Rita went with him), the girls and I went to urgent care to been seen for our never ending cold. I also awoke to a bad eye infection. Just our little visit today amounted to all this medicine. The awful thing is that I can't wear my contacts for 10 days. I hate my glasses but am blind otherwise! :(

My sick little Sophia...
And my sleeping, sick little Maya...

Day 50

We finger painted today. :) It was Maya's first time. She figured it out right away!!!

I thought fingerpainting was supposed to be messy?! Sophia was so neat and careful with her paint (until the end).

Look at Maya's leg...hahaha

Maya started wrestling with the paper, so it was time for a long soak in the tub for both of the girls! It took a few fresh fills of the tub before they came all clean (see the green water).

Day 49

The girls were "wrestling" and couldn't stop giggling. :)
