Day 276
Alberto had a tour of NASA's Dryden Flight Research Center today. What a treat that was for him! He was able to fly some really cool flight simulators and didn't even crash!
I'll have to have Alberto check my facts and come back to update them. Here he is with the pilot that flew 6 times the speed of sound. This is a model of the plane he flew.
This is the airplane they use to transport the Space Shuttle back to Florida, after it lands in California. The pilot is telling Alberto about his experiences.

The girls and I visited Disneyland and Ariel!

Day 275
Sophia was thrilled to see Santa. She asked him to get Maya and her a new pink play kitchen set.
Our Christmas photo for this year! We would have loved to have both girls smiling, but Maya seems to have the typical 1 year old Santa reaction. I didn't torture her long and she was only on his lap for a quick second while I snapped this photo. Aside from my baby's distress, I do love the out stretched arms.

Day 273
During last year's after Christmas sales, I bought a fake tree at 90% off. That put the cost at half of what we pay for a real tree every year. I made a deal with Alberto that we'd try it for a year and if he hated it, we hadn't lost any money. It's quite a bizarre idea for Alberto to have a fake tree, but I grew up with them. It actually brought back many childhood memories when Sophia and I were setting up the tree.
I'm still in search of a good tree scent air freshner or candle, but regardless of that, I definitely prefer the fake tree and not having the tree die a week before Christmas!
