Day 12

Yay! Pop-Pop Dennis flew in today from Annapolis! We went to pick him up at the teeny weeny Long Beach Airport. Here's the view from the parking garage...
Pop-Pop's plane was an hour late, so Sophia colored...

and Maya slept...
Back home, Sophia pushed around her baby doll...Oh, wait, that's not a doll...that's cousin Molly!

Day 11

The lighting late afternoon today was fantastic. I couldn't pick just a few pictures! :)

Sophia was catching a lady bug.

And giggling as it crawled all over her. (Pardon the dirty nails...we had just finished cleaning up our strawberry bushes.)

Here Sophia was almost crying because she didn't want me to take her picture. The lighting was perfect, so I couldn't resist!

We were pulling up some stray flowers and decided to turn Liberty into a flower pot.

Then Sophia decided to ride her "horse"...

And Liberty tossed her aside, as he didn't feel like being a horse!

Afterwards, she played on the swing. You may need to squint to see our California-size backyard. :)

I loved the lighting in this picture of Maya...

Maya was loving Liberty...

PS - I've decide to combine all 3 of my blogs (this one, Sophia's and Maya's) into this one blog, but I'll be including a photo of each of the girls every day, so I still keep my goal of having a photo a day of them both. :)

Day 10

This morning Sophia made masks for us. Here is Sophia...

And Mommy & Sophia...

Yes, those are salimanders Sophia drew all over my face. :)

Last night, we told Sophia she could stay up late and watch American Idol. She was asleep 5 minutes into it. :)

Today was rough for Maya because she's teething. If I wasn't holding her while she slept she was crying. Tylenol didn't even do much for her. :(

Day 9

Sisterly love...

I had originally wanted to do a photo of this cross we have. Alberto's cousin from Hondoras gave it to us for our wedding. I had wanted to get a pretty angle of it or some nice lighting, but that didn't work out. I did do a trick that one of my photo buddy group members had posted about a bounced flash using an index card. I had been struggling to get our yellow walls to show up and not have a flash reflection in the cross. That index card did the trick!

AFTER:

Sophia watching a ton of birds fly over our house...

And watching a worm wiggle down the sidewalk...

I love the setting on my camera that lets me pick a color and do the rest black & white! Here's Maya after she tipped over on the grass. :)

Not a great shot, but I thought it was so funny how she was sleeping with one leg propped up and holding up the other leg.

Day 8

Maya's favorite toy..

Our photo group challenge of the week is something blue. There's just a little blue in this photo.

Day 7

A nearby neighborhood is on fire. This shows the smoke blowing through the bright blue sky. The flag pole is in our yard. The fire is not close enough to our home to worry though. Here's a news link... http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,258229,00.html

I tried to work with different types of lighting today.

Disneyland Castle in the bright sun...

Dark inside It's A Small World ride...

Maya pulling Sophia's hair. :) In the shade on a very bright day. I was also playing around with angles.

Sophia visited Mickey, Ariel and Goofy today...
