Day 27

Day 26

It's a perfect 75 degrees out today.

Maya's thigh... :)
Disney fireworks from our front yard. I used the fireworks setting on my camera, so I'm not sure why they didn't turn out better.
The Carl's Jr. founder, Carl Karcher is from Anaheim and the CKE headquarters is here as well. I believe they also own Hardee's, so the star may look familiar to non-Californians also.

Day 25

Sophia playing in Daddy's ties...

We played peek-a-boo with Maya in Daddy's ties...

Oh my goodness...I weighed 17 lbs, 13 oz at my 6 month baby check up today!

Here's another Anaheim landmark, our convention center. It's the largest convention center on the West Coast and the 4th largest in the country.

This is a photo of the Santa Ana "River". As a non-native Californian, this partially cemented, man-made DRY river cracks me up. Notice the bike trail along this scenic river...LOL! In So Cal's defense, when (if) it rains, the river does fill up. Some may wonder why it's not just called the Santa Ana drain ditch. (I'm sure my OC native husband will not find this amusing, as these are the only types of "rivers" he grew up with....hehehe.)

Day 24

Sophia's still sick and Maya is miserable from teething, so it's been a pretty boring day here. It's been an all tv sort of day for us.

We did have a little fun earlier today when we gave Maya green beans for the first time. Our chunky monkey has been rejecting rice, barley and oatmeal cereal, so I figured she hadn't gotten the hang of eating yet. At my mom's suggestion, I tried the veggie baby food and, sure enough, Maya knows how to eat and just wanted real food! She giggled between each bite!

Day 23

My photo group challeng this week is Local Landmarks. Disneyland is the obvious landmark in Anaheim, but this week I am going to look for other Anaheim landmarks...and maybe learn a little about my city in the process!

Here's a photo of The Big A, which is in the parking lot of Angels Stadium...home of the 2002 World Series champions, the Anaheim Angels. We're huge Angels fans and are lucky to live just 2 miles from the stadium.

As an unexpected bonus, behind The Big A on the left you can see The Pond a.k.a. The Honda Center, which is the arena where the Mighty Ducks (hockey) play and many concerts are held.

Sophia is really sick today, running a 103.9 fever. I actually only got the big A photo because we drove by it on the way to the doctor.
Maya has been really sleepy today, so I'm hoping she's not getting sick too. Fortunately, she doesn't have a fever.

Day 22

Monday, March 26th.

On our way home!
Our little motorhome, when we stopped for a break...
And the cows across the street...
During our stop, Maya was happy to get out of her carseat, but not very thrilled to be in the bouncy seat!
This was actually from the night before. It's not a good photo, but such a sweet memory that I wanted to include it. Sophia and her older cousins put on a little show in the campground ampatheatre. Here, Sophia is singing Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star. She just belted it out with no fear of an audience at all.

Day 21

Sunday, March 25th.

Ack! It's me without makeup and a shower! But this was just after our walk back from Lower Yosemite Falls...
Daddy and Sophia on the walk up to the falls...
Maya had SO MUCH FUN playing in the pine needles and dirt. My only challenge was keeping it out of her mouth...
As we approached the path to Yosemite Falls, there were about a dozen deer eating by the path...
