There used to be a flower field next to my mom & step-dad's house, but it was sold to build a church on. This is all that really remains of the property, except a few bunnies.
Sophia was "watching" the peacocks with her adventure kit. Grandma Bonnie & Pop-Pop Jon live near a peacock farm, which can't actually be seen from their house. You can't see them, but you can hear them -- something like a possessed cat, or as Pop-Pop Dennis said, a terradactyl. :) This adventure kit was actually my brother's when he was a little boy!
Maya wasn't too happy when Grandma showed her Aunt Stephie's cat!

Day 103
It was a fun photography morning for us today! My dad told me about this website http://www.outdoorphotographer.com that had good information on it. It has a very interesting How To section. I was reading this morning about getting up close to photo subjects. The article suggested to pick a 20x20 foot area and spend an hour (we did a 1/2 hour) looking for things to shoot up close. Here is what I came up with! You can see more details by clicking on the photos.
Ants walking by our strawberries.
A fly on our lemon tree. I really like how you can see the shadow of his wings and even his little hairs.
A different fly-like bug on our lemon tree.
Prior to our photo time, Sophia had fun on her bouncy ball. I think it is so funny to watch her on it. I liked this shot because she was mid-bounce and her ponytail is sticking straight up. You can see Liberty coming after her (he thinks it's his ball).
Liberty tried to get the ball and it made Sophia cry. She wasn't hurt...just alittle drama. She had stopped crying when I took this photo and was actually starting to giggle, but still had a tear.
Sophia took photos of the ants and strawberries with her camera.
This is how Maya was sleeping when I checked on her this morning. This is the perspective from when I walk in the room and look down. She was sound asleep!

Day 102
Maya was just hanging out like a big girl. :)
I helped her away from the sofa and let go to see if she could stand. She did for a moment! I cut her hand off in the photo, but she's standing on her own. Although, you can tell by her expression that she is a bit unsure of herself!
I've been meaning to take a photo like this for a while. Santa got Sophia this cash register for Christmas and she LOVES to play store with it. When she wants to play with it, she asks if we want to play "Reg Cagister". I absolutely adore how she mispronouces it!

*** Day 100 ***
It's Day 100 of my blog! I can't believe I've been working on this project this long already! :)
Today was my dad's birthday, so we had dinner at the beach, watched the sunset and they looked at the Red Bull photo exhibit that lit up after sunset.
Here is Daddy & Sophia watching the waves at sunset.
Under the Huntington Beach Pier as the sun was setting.
The pier during sunset.
Pop-Pop Dennis and his birthday dessert, which we all dug into like we hadn't eaten in months! It was great to have all 3 of us siblings together to celebrate dad's birthday!
Sophia is patting Maya like she's a puppy. :)
