Year 2, Week 5
We went to Disneyland for the day and saw the Aladdin storytelling show. Afterwards, the girls got to meet Aladdin and Jasmine, although Maya wasn't too happy with that part.
Disneyland also had a petting zoo that we had never discovered before!
This week was Sophia's big field trip for preschool. Alberto took the day off work and we hopped on the train to ride it down to San Juan Capistrano with the rest of the school. Sophia's BFF came along for the trip too!
We had been to the petting zoo before, which Sophia calls the "Bunny Farm" because of the cage of bunnies that kids can play with and feed.
Poor Maya was so tired come mid-day.
The school also organized several great activity tables where the kids could learn about old Indian culture. This picture really cracks me up, because Miss Sue was explaining how the indians branded their animals. Sophia was horrified at the thought!
Sophia also got to wash clothes by hand. Other fun things included panning for "gold", grinding up flour, making butter, and a making a headband.

X marks the spot! We went to the beach and had a bbq for dinner, then watched the sun set. Sophia has a habit of wanting to bring home every stick, rock, or shell she ever finds, so we have to set some limits. When we tell her she can't bring something home, she finds the "perfect" spot to put it so that no one will ever find it. Today, she buried a shell and told us she was going to mark it with an X so we could find it next time we came to the beach. :)
Some friends of ours have 3 chickens and Sophia got such a kick out of holding one of them.
The girls and I had a tea party for lunch today. :)
I was calling Maya and she wouldn't answer or come to me, so I went looking. This is what I found in our front entry.
Surprise! It was really Maya! HA!

Year 2, Week 1
We spent the day at the park celebrating a cousin's first birthday.
Happy Easter!
The day after Easter, we left for a week in Yosemite.
Sophia jumps into Mirror Lake. Brrrrr!
Daddy and the girls hide in a tree.
Our family at Lower Yosemite Falls.
Sophia completed her Junior Ranger program and was sworn in as a Junior Ranger. :)
All the kids as we walked through a meadow.
Alberto saw this tiny snake (about the size of a pencil) in the dried grass from 3 feet up on the board walk. We were all amazed that he actually saw it while we were walking.
It snowed the day we left for home, so we stopped to sled in a snow park.
